Nick Yelloly is hoping his outing with Force India during the in-season F1 test at the Circuit de Catalunya could be a prelude to a more formal role at the team going forward.

The Englishman got his first laps in an F1 car after being called up to drive the Mercedes-powered VJM08 on the first day of a two-day test around the Circuit de Catalunya.

Fresh from making his GP2 Series debut over the weekend with the Force India-affiliated Hilmer Motorsport outfit, Yelloly's F1 run also came after spending time in the team's simulator. Going on to set the sixth fastest time, Yelloly is hopeful he can get another go in the car and possibly expand his role too.
