Lotus says it is already turning its attentions to the 2016 Formula 1 season, just six rounds into its vastly improved 2015 campaign.

After a torrid 2014 season that yielded just 10 points - a far cry from the podiums it was achieving in 2012 and 2013 -, Lotus has enjoyed a revival of sorts this year having already surpassed its points' tally for last year and is in the hunt for fifth in the constructors' standings.

However, though six rounds of the season have been completed, Lotus is already plotting another step forward in the direction of the podium for 2016, where it will look to re-establish itself as a consistent front runner once again.

"It's amazing, but already almost a third of the way through the season and we'll be at the half-way mark in two months' time," said deputy team principal Federico Gastaldi.

"Naturally, we're already looking at next season, whether it be technically, commercially or in other ways too. We've made a huge step back towards the front of the grid this season after our troubles in 2014, and we hope to make a further step forward in 2016 too."
