Jolyon Palmer will drive in first free practice for the next five European-based races as Lotus continues to step up its association with the defending GP2 Series champion.

Having been signed as Lotus' test and reserve driver over the winter, Palmer has already participated in three FP1 sessions in China, Bahrain and Spain, as well as testing.

Now Lotus has confirmed Palmer will participate in each of the next five FP1 sessions at the Red Bull Ring, Silverstone, Hungaroring, Spa-Francorchamps and Monza.
