Having been quickest in FP1, the German was pipped by Sebastian Vettel in the Ferrari by 0.011secs in FP2, but it is a small margin for error that he is confident will be easily recovered once qualifying gets underway.

"You always have a bit in your pocket on the Friday to pull out in qualifying, but maybe over a long run they were closer, though in general everyone is closer here. Qualifying is important, it always is, especially against Lewis so I need to try and be in front.
