Nico Rosberg says one of his main tactics in the Austrian Grand Prix will be to pressure Lewis Hamilton into a mistake following a rash of errors by drivers at the Red Bull Ring.

Offs at turn one and turn eight especially have been frequent throughout the weekend, with Fernando Alonso believed to be the only driver not to have experienced an off in any session, albeit partly down to his compromised track running.

Indeed, with both pole sitter Hamilton and Rosberg going off on their final laps in qualifying, the latter admits the challenge of the circuit means he has a chance to make his pressure count should he not get ahead at the beginning.

"That is probably one of my best opportunities for the race," he said. "I need to keep the pressure on as much as I can, like in Montreal but hopefully with cooler brakes, keep the pressure on and hopefully Lewis will make a mistake."

Reflecting on why this weekend has seen so many drivers experience wild moments, Rosberg says the short layout and necessity to attack has prompted the errors.

"The braking is very important here to do a quick lap and it is so difficult to get it right and you have to attack, I think that is why we see a lot of mistakes. It is very nervous on the rear in the last two corners, it will just step out. It's a cool track and very challenging."
