Fernando Alonso believes the high downforce Hungaroring presents an opportunity for McLaren-Honda to show its progress as the half-way point in the 2015 Formula 1 season looms.

The Spaniard notched up his first point of the season last time out at Silverstone, though both he and the team made it clear that his tenth place finish at Silverstone was not to be regarded as a breakthrough.

Nonetheless, Alonso is feeling optimistic about his chances for the Hungarian Grand Prix - scene of his first-ever F1 win with Renault -, saying the characteristics of the circuit could allow him to showcase the McLaren's strengths on a circuit where engine power isn't so crucial.
