Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton says it is "looking pretty good" for him after he led the way on Friday in practice for the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Hamilton set the top time in both sessions on Friday at the Hungaroring, finishing the day quickest with a 1 minute 23.949 second lap, that left him 0.351s up on Daniil Kvyat in second and 0.719s up on team-mate, Nico Rosberg, who was only fourth.
“I think everyone is having difficulties with it [putting together a good lap]. It is definitely not easy, but it is challenging and I like that it is challenging. I'm enjoying it,” Hamilton reflected.
Hamilton also welcomed the fact the Red Bulls were between him and Rosberg: “That's good, that's good. The more the merrier, the more battles we have the better. The car is feeling quite good this weekend.”
Hamilton did admit, however, that the high temperatures were making things tough in the cockpit: “That was actually really good fun, it is just incredibly hot. It feels hotter than a sauna out there,” he added.
“Honestly, I can't express to you how hot it is in this suit, this thermal underwear and then before you even get in the car, you are just drenched. I think I lost just in that session probably like a kilo, so I've got lots to drink.”
“I think being a little bit cooler on Sunday [as is forecast] will change the balance of the car, but I [still] think we are looking pretty good at the moment."
