Lewis Hamilton says he'll be treating the United States Grand Prix like any other race weekend despite it presenting the Mercedes driver with his first opportunity to seal a third Formula 1 World championhip.

The British driver's victory in Russia coupled with Nico Rosberg's retirement means he can claim the drivers' title if he outscores Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel by nine points and Rosberg by two in the US.

Hamilton says he's feeling no pressure to secure the championship at the Circuit of the Americas and isn't concerning himself with title calculations.

"I've learned from experience that nothing is ever done until it's done in this sport, so I won't be taking anything for granted going into the weekend," Hamilton said. "I'm going into this next race with the same approach I've had all year.

"There are four races left for me to get this Championship tied up and as long as it's done by the time I cross the line in Abu Dhabi that's what really counts. I'm excited to get out there, give my best and if I can come away with a third Stetson hat that would be unbelievable."

Hamilton also says he's still revelling in Mercedes' triumph on the Constructors' championship having lifted the title in Russia. After celebrating with the on-track team in Sochi both Hamilton and Rosberg flew to the team's factory in Brackley on Monday to enjoy the achievement with the whole team.

"It's been great to catch up with the team back at the factories and to celebrate together the amazing achievements of this year," he said. "I can't say enough how grateful I am for all the hard work and it's important that we savour these moments."

Focusing on this weekend, Hamilton holds strong memories at the Austin circuit having claimed two victories since the track's introduction to the Formula 1 calendar in 2012; in the track's debut for McLaren and last year for Mercedes. If Hamilton repeats the feat this weekend and Vettel finishes third or lower the F1 title will be his with three rounds to spare.

"We head off to Austin which is definitely one of the highlights of the year for me. I love the States and spend a lot of time over there, so it's a weekend I always look forward to."
