Nico Hulkenberg may not have enjoyed the most consistent 2015 F1 campaign, but he cannot deny that Force India has the potential to keep moving forward after a strong second half to the year.

The German remains frustratingly outside the top ten in the drivers' championship, albeit just three points off Toro Rosso's Max Verstappen, and has still to sample an F1 podium - something his team-mate achieved in Russia - but is confident that Force India can build on its performance since introducing the VJM08B at Silverstone.

The nine races following the team's home event have yielded an impressive 81 points, and, with a guaranteed fifth place in the constructors' standings just a few more away, Hulkenberg sees no reason why the Silverstone squad cannot keep on getting better.

"It has definitely been a season with two faces," he confirmed, "For me personally, there have been some good races and some struggles, but I think that's how it works in a long season - more important for the team will be to come away with that fifth place after Abu Dhabi. I think we need three points over Lotus this weekend to secure it and that's the main target."

Already confirmed in an unchanged line-up for next season, Hulkenberg is keen to see what Force India can produce as it looks to stay ahead of the likes of Lotus and McLaren in 2016.

"The idea is that we can continue growing and use the solid base that we have now with this car to develop more and get closer to the top," he pointed out, "The key will be the winter, that we really develop in the right direction and keep moving forward. I have good faith and trust in the team that we can achieve that.

"I think a strong point of this team is that we're very efficient with what we've got. If you consider the size of our team and the budget we have, we make a pretty good job of it - the weakness is that we need deeper pockets!"
