Dall’Ara exits Sauber, replaced by Malyon

Red Bull's Tim Malyon is replacing Giampaolo Dall'Ara as Sauber's Head of Track Engineering, it is confirmed.
Sauber has confirmed Giampaolo Dall'Ara has exited the team ahead of the 2016 Formula 1 World Championship season, to be replaced by Tim Malyon from Red Bull Racing.

The Italian is one of Sauber's longest serving members having joined in 2000 after a successful stint with Alfa Romeo in touring cars, progressing with Sauber as it amalgamated with BMW between 2006 and 2010, and staying on as it reverted to a customer team once more.

In those 15 years with the team, Dall'Ara progressed to his most senior role as Head of Track Engineering from 2014, but will leave Sauber to pursue to challenges.

Giampaolo Dall'Ara has decided to leave our company after more than 15 years of service to pursue another challenge,” a Sauber spokesperson confirmed to Crash.net. “We would like to thank Giampaolo for his dedicated and highly valued collaboration over all these years. We wish him all the best for the future.

In his place, Red Bull race engineer Malyon will become Sauber's new Head of Track Engineering, with the Swiss team confident he experience with a multiple title winning team will make him the ideal addition to the outfit.

“We are very pleased to announce Timothy Malyon as our new Head of Track Engineering. Tim has been working for more than ten years for one of the big F1 teams. We are confident that we can benefit from his long-time experience in order to improve our performance.”
