Suzi Perry rules out Channel 4 F1 move

Suzi Perry confirms she is not going to switch to Channel 4 and continue presenting F1 on terrestrial television
Suzi Perry has confirmed she will not move from the BBC to Channel 4 to continue as the lead presenter of F1's free-to-air coverage in the UK.

Perry took over as the lead F1 presenter on the BBC in 2013, replacing Jake Humphrey. She had previously been the lead on the channels MotoGP programme for over a decade.

Channel 4 was named as the surprise new home of F1 on British terrestrial television just before Christmas, with the BBC cancelling its contract with FOM three years early due to cost cutting.

Channel 4's coverage will be managed by independent production company Whisper Films, with former F1 race-winner David Coulthard – and one of the founders of Whisper Films - already signed up as one member of its on-screen presenting team. Former BBC Sport F1 editor Mark Wilkin has also joined as programme editor, while a number of other personnel are said to making the move to Channel 4.

Perry, however, has tweeted that she won't be part of Channel 4's F1 coverage – nor is she going to have a role with the new-look Top Gear television show either, although fellow BBC man and former F1 team owner Eddie Jordan is rumoured to be on the verge of signing a deal to link-up with Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc.
