Renault's inauspicious start to the pre-season testing has continued after technical problems this afternoon forced it to call time on it activities for the day at the Circuit de Catalunya.

On his second day in the RS16, Jolyon Palmer stopped not long after the resumption for lunch with technical issues, enough to put the team out for the remainder of the day.

The stoppage comes after Palmer admitted to be frustrated by niggling problems that limited his mileage to only 37 laps on the first day of action. However, though Palmer managed only 42 laps today, he says progress has been made.
