Lewis Hamilton says he remains confident in his pace heading to the Bahrain Grand Prix after a disappointingly lacklustre performance at the Australian opener earlier in the month.

A poor start from pole position left Hamilton as low as sixth at Albert Park though he would eventually work his way up to second position behind Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg after a determined effort by the Ferraris of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen to cause an upset.

Indeed, Hamilton anticipates Ferrari could make itself more of a factor in coming races, a challenge he says he buoyed by, as he looks to recover back ground on Rosberg.
