Bernie Ecclestone's mother-in-law has reportedly been kidnapped in Sao Paulo with an estimated ransom of 120 million Brazilian Reals (?27.9m).

According to Brazilian reports by Veja and Jornal Nacional Aparecida Schunck has been kidnapped from the Interlagos region last Friday with investigations currently ongoing.

The kidnappers have put up a 120m Brazilian Real, around ?27.9m, for the safe return of the 67-year-old. Schunck is the mother of Ecclestone's third wife Fabiana Flosi, with the pair marrying in 2012.

The ransom figure is the largest ever demanded in a kidnapping in Brazil.
