F1 Italian Grand Prix: Verstappen to “analyse” anti-stall woes

Max Verstappen: I went into anti-stall at the start. I don't know what happened there...
Red Bull's Max Verstappen says he will have to “analyse” why his car went into anti-stall at the start of the Italian Grand Prix.

Verstappen lined-up seventh on the grid and was keen to get a “good clean start” to try and attack the Ferraris ahead.

However, the Dutchman found himself eleventh at the end of the opening lap and then had to battle his way back through, making early passes on Nico Hulkenberg and Fernando Alonso, before later pulling off a pass on Sergio Perez at the second chicane for seventh with four laps to go.

“I went into anti-stall at the start. I don't know what happened there so I have to analyse that,” Verstappen said.

“After that it was just very difficult, because you have to push harder on the tyres to get past people and that compromises your strategy, but in the end our last stint was very positive.

“I think we did the best we could with the tyres we had so we can be very happy about that. The car behaved very well today even though this track is not our favourite.”

Verstappen's thoughts now turn to Singapore and he believes Red Bull can be very competitive in 'The Lion City'.

“We're definitely looking forward to Singapore and hopefully we can put in a strong performance there,” he added.
