F1 Brazilian GP: Confident Hamilton enjoying different feeling

Lewis Hamilton says a different feeling in Interlagos could be the key to securing a much needed Brazilian Grand Prix win this weekend.

Lewis Hamilton says he is feeling more confident around the Interlagos circuit as he sets his sights on the first Brazilian Grand Prix victory that will keep his F1 title hopes alive.

The defending champion will lose his title this weekend if he finishes second to Nico Rosberg, with stakes raised further by the fact he has never won at Interlagos.

Nonetheless, Hamilton – using a striking Ayrton Senna-inspired tribute helmet this weekend - was quickest in both FP1 and FP2, and is confident there is more to come for qualifying.

“The feeling similar to how I was feeling in Mexico and Austin so that's a positive and the car is feeling good today. Pretty much maximised all of the laps today, if not all of them but there's still time in it, which is a good thing, which I hope to bring out tomorrow and just need to make sure that I stay on top of it and make some changes tonight that work.”

Hoping Red Bull can be a factor in the title fight by taking points off Rosberg, though Max Verstappen says he doesn't expect to be fighting the Mercedes', Hamilton is more optimistic.

“I think the Red Bulls look like they are very close, they are definitely in the run for it. I think naturally if it's wet then that mixes it up a lot and it enables others to get close.”
