The
FIA - the governing body for the F1 World Championship - has released a new draft for the 2007 schedule and once again only 17 races are included, something that means the San Marino Grand Prix at Imola will not take place.
There had been speculation that Imola would be re-instated after news that the circuit would be modernised. However for the moment at least, it has not been listed.
"There was no agreement in place for an 18th race and [as such] there will continue to be 17 races in the 2007 calendar," confirmed a statement from the World Motor Sport Council after a meeting in Barcelona on Wednesday.
It was also announced that the 2007 German Grand Prix will take place at Nurburgring. In 2008, it will switch to Hockenheim. "It will continue to alternate between these two circuits thereafter," added the FIA.
Other than that the calendar is the same as that released by the
FIA at the end of August.
