Anthony Davidson says he is looking forward to being reunited with Takuma Sato when the pair join forces at Super Aguri for the 2007
Formula One season.
Davidson and Sato worked first came together in Formula Three back in 2001 when they were hired by Trevor Carlin's for his teams assault on the British
F3 championship. While Sato lifted the title and then moved on to a
Formula One drive with Jordan, Davidson clinched the runner-up slot and was given a role as a test driver with BAR.
Sato and Davidson were then reunited in 2003 when the pair worked together as test drivers with BAR, with the relationship continuing until Sato's departure for Super Aguri at then end of last season.
With Davidson now finally getting his chance to race in Formula One, the pair will compete alongside each for the first time since time since that
F3 campaign back in '01 and Davidson said it was an exciting prospect.
“It's going to be good,” he admitted. “Me and Taku get on well and, having raced together wheel-to-wheel in
F3 all season in 2001 in the same team and then worked together as test drivers with BAR, we are reunited again.
“In Formula One, it is a bit of a different task compared to what we had in F3, where it is a bit more selfish and you have your car and he has his and you go and race each other. In F1, you do have to think of developing the car and have a good working relationship as well as fighting out on the circuit.
"Development is something I am used to doing and now the big factor for both me and Taku is tying it all together.”
