Toyota name new vice-chairman

Toyota motorsport GmbH has announced that Tadashi Yamashina has been named as its new vice-chairman.

Yamashina, previously the managing officer for the Toyota Motor Corporation, takes up his new role on 1 December with the aim being to strengthen Toyota's F1 technical development and race strategy structures ahead of the 2007 season.

"As we head into the 2007 season, TMG needs to strengthen its organisation, so we have decided to send Yamashina to head up the technical development,” TMC vice president Kazuo Okamoto said.

“He not only has technological knowledge but also a wealth of overseas experience, thus we're looking forward to the leadership he will bring to TMG."
