Spyker goes online in search of sponsors

The Spyker F1 team has adopted an innovative strategy in order to top up its budget for the 2007 Formula One season, advertising several prime sponsorship positions on the online auction site eBay.

Spaces on the engine cover, rear wing and top and side of nosecone of the F8-VII are all up for grabs, with minimum bidding opening at E500,000 for the top of the nose and rising to a cool E3million for the engine cover. The revelation comes despite the team announcing another new partner - MaxCredible - on the eve of the Malaysian Grand Prix and two major backers - Etihad and Aldar - at the opening round of the year, in Australia.

Should anyone have a little loose change rattling around, bidding will remain open until the end of the Bahrain Grand Prix meeting next weekend. The 'items' available can be viewed by CLICKING HERE.
