NEWS FLASH 2: More on FIA verdict
Although there is still no official word on the verdict reached by the FIA World Motor Sport Council following the spy row hearing today, early reports suggest that McLaren-Mercedes have been stripped of all their points' in this years constructors' championship.

The Woking-based team has also been given a $100 million fine - around £50 million.

McLaren drivers' Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton however both retain their points' in the drivers' championship.

The FIA also announced that they will compile a report on McLaren's 2008 challenger – the MP4-23 - and that it will be examined independently, assumingly to ensure Ferrari's intellectual property has not been used.

If Ron Dennis' team is found to have used any information from the Ferrari dossier then they will lose all points in 2008 as well.

McLaren-Mercedes are due to hold a press conference now at 19.15 hours BST.
