Webber: We have two drivers, they have one

Mark Webber believes Red Bull Racing will gain an edge over midfield rivals Williams and Renault during the course of the 2008 Formula 1 campaign due to the team's more experienced driver line-up.

Though RBR currently sits only seventh in the constructors' title chase – behind fourth-placed Williams and sixth-placed Renault, following Webber's points-scoring finishes in both Malaysia and Bahrain – the outspoken Aussie is adamant he and team-mate David Coulthard will be better equipped to develop the Milton Keynes-based outfit's Adrian Newey-designed RB4 as the season progresses.

“We have two drivers,” the 31-year-old wrote in his column for Swiss publication Motorsport Aktuell. “Williams and Renault have only one. We must extract the full potential from the current car as quickly as possible.”

He added that he was confident Red Bull would be able to exploit the full potential of its car for the first time this year, whilst acknowledging that rookies Nelsinho Piquet (Renault) and Kazuki Nakajima (Williams) “can be good at times”.

Mark is right and I have said it all along, the RBR will continue to develop their car much like they did last year when it was very strong in the last few races. This years Red Bull is the best F1 car Mark has had the opportunity to race and we will hopefully see some top point scoring results maybe even a podium or two.
