Another – 'even faster' – Nakajima set for F1?

Kazuki Nakajima may have only made his Formula 1 debut in last year's season-closing Brazilian Grand Prix at Interlagos, but already another member of his racing family is lining up to join him in the top flight.

Nakajima's father Satoru competed in 74 grands prix for Lotus and Tyrrell from 1987 to 1991, famously partnering multiple world champions Ayrton Senna and Nelson Piquet at the former and setting fastest lap en route to fourth spot at the chequered flag in the rain-lashed 1989 Australian Grand Prix at Adelaide.

His son Kazuki has gone on to impress many over the course of the first half of his 'rookie' campaign in the uppermost echelon, registering points on four occasions and outpacing highly-regarded and more experienced team-mate Nico Rosberg in qualifying on a couple of occasions for good measure.

Now, Formula Nippon team owner Satoru has revealed, another Nakajima is on the fast track to an F1 future, in the shape of 18-year-old Daisuki, currently racing in the Japanese F3 Championship.

“He is very fast,” he told Swiss publication Motorsport Aktuell, “perhaps even faster than Kazuki. At the moment his car is not so good.”

The 55-year-old also revealed that whilst Kazuki does not like him to attend many races, he will be present for the sport's inaugural night grand prix at Singapore at the end of September.

“I want to go simply because I am curious about the night race,” he explained.

Well that reminds me of certain McEnroe Sr and Elisabeth Schumacher telling the scribes how their younger Son is way better talent than the Elder one. And times have told the results of those statements. So time will tell :p
