Dutch fans were out in force over the weekend for the annual Bavaria City Racing event, with over 500,000 people hitting the streets to see three Formula 1 teams in action.
Renault, Toyota and Force India were all in action during the event, which saw Jarno Trulli, Giancarlo Fisichella, Adrian Sutil and home hero Robert Doornbos take turns completing a series of demonstration runs.
Carlo van Dam in the Team Netherlands A1 GP car, Tom Coronel in his WTCC SEAT Leon and the Renger van der Zande in a GP2 machine were also in action.
“Today was a very special day,” organiser Robert Heilbron from Rotterdam Racing said. “Four years ago, I wouldn't have dared dream about this. Following the first ever edition of the Moscow City Racing event and today, with three Formula 1 teams participating, it's been an unforgettable year for me!”
Bavaria board member Peer Swinkels was also delighted with the event.
"Following Moscow, this has once again been an extremely successful event here in Rotterdam," he said. "Every year, it seems as though the crowds just can't get enough of the spectacle that Bavaria City Racing provides them. We certainly intend to carry on treating Formula 1 fans to fantastic days like today for many years to come."
