Formula One will enter a new era later this month when the sport stages its first ever event under lights in Singapore.

The SingTel Singapore Grand Prix will be held on a new street circuit that works its way around some of the most historic landmarks in the famous city, with drivers expected to reach speeds of more than 300km/h on each 5.067km lap.

The fact that the action will be played out at night adds to the spectacle and, as a result, tickets have been quickly snapped up by fans eager to secure their place in the grandstand.

With more than 96 per cent of tickets having now been sold, time is running out to be part of one of the most historic moments in the long history of F1, although seats still remain available in four prime locations for the race.

The Esplanade Steps Premier Grandstand is one location that will provide plenty of action, as the cars come out of the tight hairpin at turn 13 and blast along Esplanade Drive, before braking hard into the right hander at turn 14 – with ample opportunity for drivers to try and make up positions right in front of your eyes. The Connaught Grandstand will also give fans the chance to see the action at turn 14, with some seats also offering views of turn eight.

The Singapore Flyer Grandstand, meanwhile, provides fans with the dramatic backdrop of the Marina Bay area; not that there will be much chance to take in the sights as the cars blast along the waterfront into the left-hander that will complete the lap.

Tickets are also still available for the Padang Grandstand, which provides a superb view along the St Andrew's Road stretch of the circuit. For those who like to catch the action off track, the Padang Grandstand is located close to plenty of the live entertainment on offer throughout the weekend.

With only a matter of weeks left until the event, the few tickets remaining aren't expected to be available for long, as people scramble to secure a place in a prime location for the event – so time is running out if you want to make sure you don't miss the opportunity to be there in person.
