Hamilton wins Chinese GP.

Lewis Hamilton took a decisive step towards clinching his first Formula One world title with an untroubled lights-to-flag victory in the Chinese Grand Prix at Shanghai International.

There was no repeat of the controversy from Japan last weekend, as Hamilton made the perfect getaway and closed off any thought Kimi Raikkonen may have had of taking the lead. Felipe Massa slotted in to third place at the first turn and the race remained pretty much unchanged at the front until Raikkonen did the expected thing and slowed to allow his title-chasing team-mate to pass him for second spot in the closing stages.

Fernando Alonso was unable to win a third straight race after being out-paced by both Hamilton and the two Ferraris throughout, but was able to see off the early threat of Heikki Kovalainen before going on to take an uneventful fourth.

Kovalainen was robbed of a points finish by a brake-related blow-out that dropped him well down the order, allowing the two BMW Saubers of Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica to move into fifth and sixth. That, however, was not enough for the Pole to take his title challenge to the final round, leaving it as a two-horse race at Interlagos.

The final points went to Timo Glock and Nelson Piquet Jr.

What a boring boring race, but hey who cares, in the odd time KR went faster, LH just opened the gap back out again, the best boring race for a while and true to fashion Ferrari swap cars, it was evident that Massa was not on a par with KR at least when HK let LH past LH was far quicker. He's World Champion as far as ethics and the most of the UK are concerned but the FIA Diddy championship, will come along later.
