Lewis Hamilton may have come in for renewed attack from internet extremists in Spain, but will have a loyal following gathering at his home circuit to will him on his way to a first Formula One world title when he takes on Felipe Massa in Sunday's Brazilian Grand Prix.

While the local favourite will have a massive following behind him at Interlagos, Hamilton fans who have bought a ticket to next year's British Grand Prix will have an early chance to visit Silverstone to cheers for their hero after the British Racing Drivers' Club once again decided to open its doors to the public in anticipation of a night of celebration.

While thousands of British race fans will be tuning in to events from Sao Paolo from the comfort of their own homes, Silverstone has arranged a private screening of the Brazilian Grand Prix in the BRDC clubhouse, and will be inviting 50 individuals who have already booked their tickets to next year's British round, along with a host of special guests, to watch the race.

"I think there will be an enormous amount of people tuning in to watch the end of season showdown to get behind Lewis," Silverstone Circuits MD Richard Phillips commented, "It would be very special for all of us involved in British motorsport to witness the first British F1 champion since the president of the BRDC, Damon Hill, took the title in 1996. I will certainly be watching from the BRDC clubhouse and look forward to what promises to be a great race and a great atmosphere among true race fans.

"The support Lewis received from the crowds at the British Grand Prix earlier this year was almost overwhelming, and we would be very proud to see a British driver, as reigning world champion, challenging for the title again at the 2009 British Grand Prix at Silverstone.

"It's unbelievable to think how much Lewis has achieved in just two seasons in Formula One. He has become a real inspiration and must now stay focused if he is to win the world championship."

All fans that have already purchased tickets for next year's British Grand Prix will be entered into a lucky draw to win tickets to the exclusive screening on Sunday.
