Edoardo Piscopo admitted that his debut in
Formula One machinery had been an 'incredible experience' after he joined
Ferrari for a day of testing at Fiorano.
Piscopo earned the chance to test the F20008 after finishing second in the Italian
F3 Championship to Mirko Bortolotti, who also took part in the test alongside Salvatore Cicatelli as the top three in the points standings were granted an F1 test.
Despite suffering with a hand injury sustained during the
A1GP race weekend at Sepang, Piscopo was able to complete 27 laps of the
Ferrari test track at the wheel of the car raced by
Kimi Raikkonen and
Felipe Massa this season, lapping in times similar to test driver Andrea Bertolini despite damp conditions on track.
"It has been a great experience, despite the fact I could only drive for 27 laps in tough track conditions," he reflected. "I'm really happy with the results, though I think I could have improved my marks later, when the track warmed and started to get some more grip.
"The car is incredible, so well-balanced and seems even easier than an
A1GP car. It's incredibly effective on-track, making you learn and improve in a really natural way."
Piscopo now heads to Valencia for the second day of World Series by
Renault testing where he will run with the Draco Racing team.
