Honda's shock announcement last week that it is to withdraw from Formula 1 with immediate effect has sent ripples through the sport, with murmurings that other teams may now follow.

In a climate of growing financial unease around the globe - and the sport's massive costs plunging several car manufacturers' future participation into doubt - it has been suggested that one or more of Honda's rivals could now follow suit, with Toyota seen as the most likely victim.
