Kubica: We are moving in right direction...

Robert Kubica was back at the wheel of the new BMW Sauber F1.09 today [Wednesday] in Valencia, continuing with the evaluation process he started on Tuesday during the shakedown.

Kubica, who managed 99 laps in total, concentrated on set-up work - working on the brakes and looking at different tyre compounds. He also conducted several race start simulations.

In the morning he deliberately stopped out on the track when he carried out a so-called 'fuel run-out', a standard procedure with every new F1 car.

"Although it was quite windy in the afternoon, the conditions were better than yesterday because the track is building up grip with every lap I drive," he reflected. "The progress we made during the day shows that we are moving in the right direction with the development of the F1.09."

The BMW Sauber F1 Team will now continue testing in Valencia for three more days, with Kubica running on Thursday, before Nick Heidfeld takes over for the final two days on Friday and Saturday.
