F1 Driver of the Day: Australian GP

The 2012 F1 world championship got underway in Melbourne at the weekend, with the usual mix of action and politics.

Jenson Button camen through it all to take a lights-to-flag victory, keeping reigning champion Sebastian Vettel at arms length in the closing stages.

McLaren proved to have the upper hand throughout the weekend, with Lewis Hamilton pipping Button for pole on Saturday afternoon, while pre-season favourites Red Bull only managed to qualify on row three.

With Hamilton slipping to third by the chequered flag, Mark Webber finished fourth, his best result in his home race, ahead of Fernando Alonso, Kamui Kobayashi, Kimi Raikkonen, Sergio Perez, Daniel Ricciardo and Paul di Resta. Timo Glock, meanwhile, headed a two-car finish for the untried Marussia squad after both Caterhams dropped out.

While others, such as Frenchmen Romain Grosjean and Jean-Eric Vergne, deserve mention in despatches, we want to know who, from the list below, you feel was the star of the race.

This is your chance to 'have your say'....
