F1 Driver of the Day: Belgian GP

The Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps saw Jenson Button come through to take the victory after a dominant performance in his McLaren. The Englishman was never threatened, and didn't put a foot wrong all afternoon.

Sebastian Vettel, however, also did well, and after problems in qualifying and at the start, came through to finish second and close right up on current championship leader, Fernando Alonso. Alonso was one of four drivers sidelined at the start in the first corner accident that also claimed Lewis Hamilton, Sergio Perez and Romain Grosjean, the latter deemed responsible for the pile-up and handed a one-race ban. Meanwhile, Kimi Raikkonen took the final spot on the podium, after a great tussle with Michael Schumacher, who finished down in seventh, while Nico Hulkenberg got his best ever result with fourth, ahead of Felipe Massa and Mark Webber in fifth and sixth.

Behind, the Toro Rosso's of Jean-Eric Vergne and Daniel Ricciardo both ran well, finishing eighth and ninth, despite starting down in 15th and 16th, while Paul di Resta took tenth place, even though his Force India had no KERS.
