Which new driver most deserves an F1 break?
The FIA's revolutionary £40 million optional budget cap for 2010 onwards may not have gone down well with many of the top flight's existing competitors – particularly its five manufacturers – but what it does seem set to do is entice new teams and new talent into the sport. So who do you believe deserves to be given a chance to make their mark?
There will be three available slots on the starting grid for newcomers next year, with a David Richards-led Aston Martin/Prodrive/Middle Eastern entry, iconic British marque Lola, North Carolina-based operation US GPE, GP2 Series front-runners iSport International and erstwhile Honda satellite squad Super Aguri all understood to be in the running to fill them.
Once the teams are decided, of course, it will then be a question of who gets to drive for them, with all manner of names in the frame and young guns desperate to get their F1 break – but who do you reckon deserves the opportunity the most?
