F1 » F1 QUIZ: Spa and Monza bring European season to an end

So that's it - another season of F1 comes to the end of its stay in Europe, and we get back on the long haul flights for Singapore, Suzuka, Korea and a first time visit to Texas among others. But at least the European season bowed out in style with back-to-back races at two of the best circuits in the world - fan favourite Spa-Francorchamps and the high-speed Autodromo Nazionale Monza.

While it was good to be back in action after a month's hiatus, and there was plenty going on both on- and off-the track to follow, it was also impossible not to get nostalgic about the history of the sport among the ghosts of these two circuits. That sense of nostalgia also infuses this month's Crash.net Quiz Review of the Belgian and Italian Grand Prix races.

That means there should be something for everyone in this month's quiz, from oldtimers steeped in history themselves to the sport's new fans watching some of their first F1 races. Have a go at the ten questions and see how you fare - it's best if you try it first time without recourse to the Internet, so try to avoid looking things up in Google or Wikipedia (or even Crash.net's own incomparable news archives come to that!) and let us know how you get on.

Ready to get started? The first question awaits you below ...

Question 1. At 4.352 miles (7km) in length, the modern Spa-Francorchamps circuit is the longest on the 2012 F1 calendar. How long was the F1 circuit originally before it was remodelled due to safety concerns? (Extra bragging rights for anyone who recognises other historic circuits from the red herring choices!)
