Things falling off F1 cars is not that rare. Being hit by the part IS. Laying the blame for the failure on the fact that the car is largely computer designed is unfair - believe me, you don't need a computer to screw-up! I remember Michael Schumacher driving down the pitlane with driveshafts and other bits falling off the rear of his Ferrari and scattering all over the place - Human error is always the primary cause (especially as humans program computers - so please don't blame the computers - they only do what you tell them!)
