also not surprised in the least that the RB7 isnt suddenly behind the mclarens, and given they no longer run a different quali and race map, mclaren no longer has the "well we are always faster in race trim than RBR"... you qualified in race trim and you were almost .5 seconds slower... good luck tomorrow.
The redbull advantage most likely came from not having to run with so much fuel to run the hot diffuser, now they take advantage of the Renault V8 being so much more efficient than the merc (25% I have heard) to run light, brilliant really. When the FIA kills cold blowing in silverstone I dont see much of a change either, and it will certainly be even more uniform across the board. Since everyone reaps a pretty similar gain from that.
