I am not Indian, but I am from a country that has not had a competitive F1 driver for a while now- the U.S.A., so I understand the desire to have a citizen in the sport.
But I also understand Mallya's view- you get a shot and either show or go.
Personally I don't think Karthikeyan showed enough to keep.
I DO think Chandhok was better and worth another shot though.
I'm not sure he could make it to be one of the top drivers either but as I've said before- most Formula 1 drivers never achieve top-ranked status in F1.
But Chandhok might be able to achieve a solid nid-pack status anyway, and even that would probably help the team, Mallya and the sport in India.
