Will Power, one of the drivers whose car flew into the air and was taken to hospital after the carnage at Las Vegas, said that the problem with the ovals was the safety catch fencing around the track. On the ovals, if you go into the air, there's nowhere else to go but into the fence which tends to rip the cars apart. Will thought for a moment he himself was a goner until he dropped low enough to hit the concrete wall instead. It's a sad state for racing when you're hoping desperately to slam into a concrete wall because it's the safer option. Mark is right, IndyCar car learn a lot from F1.
