@johnnymat @Paulus @RawDawg Watkins Glen would cost waaayy to much to upgrade even if they own enough land to enlarge the run-off areas, which is mostly what they'd have to do. The biggest problem is Location. Watkin's Glen is a pain in the ass to get at. There are only a few roads in that area, it's bounded by a large lake that limits the number of roads that could even exist and it's not what F1 in the US needs. They need a spectacle, media media media.. Austin will already provide the cool purpose-built Tilke track, NJ can provide the street spectacle. I'm assuming that the backdrop for the NJ race will be the Manhattan skyline, they should run it at night like Singapore, it would be incredible.
