Led the championship from start to finish, showed he could overtake, defend, as well perform in both qualifying and the race. He also was able to take care of the Pirellis and unlike last season he didn't make contact with other cars. Most importantly, he outqualified his established teammate 16-3 and beat him on raceday 17-2. What more did he have to do? I think people believed that Webber underperformed rather than Vettel overperformed but even if Vettel wins every race next year, most people will just say it is down to the car.
