The DRS was not the first step in the decline from the true spirit of F1, the decline started by the rules curbing technical developments, they went as far as to have homologated parts which cannot be altered, today’s F1 car is as near to a specification series as can be, when the rule makers got FI up to that point they felt the need to introduce artificial drivers aids operated by the push of a button, not only that but to make sure one of them (DRS) works they ruled that the driver being overtaken cannot use it, and so they the rule makers and some video games modern fanatics which unfortunately they call themselves FI fans could say how exiting the racing is now but forgetting that the driver being overtaken is a sitting duck.
