Presumably Petrov's sponsorship money is bringing in more than enough to pay off Trulli's contract. Sad state of affairs as Petrov has not really proven anything, and yet another case of contracts being disregarded as soon as a better offer comes along, but I can see the reasoning behind it. Petrov is no future champion, but he's fast and eager, and superb from a commercial perspective. I never really understood why the team ran two experienced drivers from the word go - Kovalainen has proved able to lead the team forward and have a hand in development, so Trulli added very little to what the taem offered.
