actually when FIA GT visits Potrero, there are some rumours that Argentine GP could be resurrected with the circuit as the venue. since the track itself receives so many rave reviews by the drivers, perhaps F1 was interested to test the water there.
safety aspects needs to be improved, yes, but so do with any other circuits that want to host F1. and you also raise another valid point of concern - whatever good for GT/touring cars, does not necessarily good for F1. Potrero might produce spectacular races for the former categories, but perhaps dull and boring for the latter. we certainly did not want another Valencia.
but no harm trying, right?
