My first thought was that this punishment was ridiculous. Delete the time from that run and instead use the time from his first Q3 run. But the more I think about it, the more the punishment seems correct. The team know how much fuel is in the car. They can tell the driver when to adjust the fuel mix. Yet the team let Lewis run the lap in full knowledge that they were breaking the rules. When you take into account the warnings after the Canada race last year (or the year before?), this was deliberate breaking of the rules.
Lewis did nothing wrong. I hope he quickly gets back up to the front today. I can't believe his team were as short-sighted as they were to do this to him.
