Listen to him - he's right. In the past (80's), when there were more winners over a season, quite often, there were good reasons for this - usually teams developing their cars - which is what F1 should be about, as the pinnacle of excellence in engineering and driving.
The inconsistency of the tyres can render development work totally meaningless - and thus results can become quite literally a lottery. The "fans" might like it, for now. True enthusiasts, though, not so much.
