Well, while I think Villeneuve may have a point up to a certain point (forgive the double "point), to me it came across mostly as "why back in my day" senior speak.
Fact is F1 now and F1 as little as 10, 15 years ago differs a heck of a lot.
Sure, the drivers of today probably do not have to face the same dangers as drivers of years gone by, but then again drivers of years gone by didn't have to first have massive financial backing, didn't have corporate responsibilities up the wazoo and didn't have the same amount of instantaneous, worldwide fame of today's crop.
Don't get me wrong, I'd happily tried F1 now for F1 circa 60 - 99, but it's sadly just not possible.
