It is not the place of tax payer funded public sector broadcasters to enter into bidding wars to hand over large sums of money to commercial rights holders of sporting events.
The money should be spent on programming that cannot be funded commercially. F1 can be broadcast commericially either on free to air channels or subscription services.
Let ITV, C4 and Sky bid over it. The BBC has no place there.
