There is no easy answer to Button's problems and if there was McClaren would have found it by now. He has always been very sensitive to set up and tyre choice and even in his championship winning year he faded away alarmingly after mid season. In short the problem is Button not the car, after all Hamilton won the race with it so it can't be too bad. I would imagine that Ron Dennis is wondering if they made the right choice in signing Button for several years and his recent presence at races again suggests that he is not happy with the way things are at present. If Button cannot get sorted there is one very swift answer and that is to put someone else in the car to see what they can do. In addition it would now make a great deal of sense to formally make Hamilton No1 and ask either Button if he improves or one ot their test drivers to back him up at all times. The championship has gone for Button and his time at McClaren will surely go the same way unless he cannot produce some drives w
