Rant: Now I am not just referring to Maldonado or this incident here, but I think the FIA need to stop handing out so many penalties. We are told that the DRS and the terrible tyres are all aimed at improving racing, but what they seemed to overlook in the first place was a driver's mindset. If a driver knows that a fifty fifty move could result in a penalty if something goes wrong they are less likely to attempt it, hence less racing and less interest for the fans. Nonetheless, it seems that there is no such thing as a 'racing incident' anymore.' I don't think anyone should have been punished here, Maldonado was shoved off track, just like many drivers were in the exact same way this race. I don't think it's fair to expect a driver to always just put up with being dumped into a run off area, particularly in cases like this where he was alongside and entitled to expect Hamilton to leave him room.
