Sadly, it is. It's not so much about 20/20 vision (which regards what a person can see at 20 feet), but rather depth perception. The human brain requires both eyes in order to determine depth. And racing of any sort, let alone F1, absolutely requires depth perception.
On the positive side, she's alive. It may seem small comfort to a racer, but they're strong people. And I believe she will eventually come to terms with it.
Here's hoping the prognosis doesn't get worse.
